Claims and Admin Officer

 

 

Purpose of Position: To manage NASRIA claims and provide administrative support.

Key Performance Ares:

  • Scrutinize all received claims documents and asses the validity of claims thereof;
  • Upload the claims on the system and appoint a claims assessor as it may be required;
  • Provide all necessary claims reports to the intermediaries (brokers/agents) and insurers;
  • Forward claims information documents to Line Manager / Supervisor for authorization;
  • Attend to day-to-day claims-related queries;
  • Handling of all mail (Nampost, Courier services) and distribution thereof;
  • To co-ordinate / carry out repairs, maintenance and inspections for general up-keep of office premises;
  • Point of contact for providing employees with administrative support;
  • Ensure office supplies are maintained at optimal level including inventories and stationery supplies;
  • Ensure that fire extinguishers are serviced regularly and in a working condition to ensure the general safety of employees;
  • Facilitate events, travel arrangements, accommodation and S&T forms;
  • Assist with booking of conference facilities;
  • Ensure that the Company assets register is up to date and all assets are insures;
  • Assist with all relevant aspects relating to documentation and correspondence on procurement.

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent;
  • Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in SHort-term Insurance;
  • Grade 12 with at least 3 years relevant experience in the short-term insurance industry.

Required Experience/Knowledge & Skills

  • At least 3 years short-term insurance claims assessment, administration and/or underwriting skills;
  • Analytical, decisice, and problem-solving skills;
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Good organizationa and time management skills;
  • Excellent user of MS Office applications particularly Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Sound knowledge of Client database management.
